A custody calendar is the part of a parenting arrangement everyone actually uses. The written plan gets filed and forgotten; the calendar is what tells you whether you have the children next Thursday.

This one is built on the schedule itself rather than on manually colored squares, so it stays correct indefinitely. Change the pattern or the start date and every month from here to whenever recalculates in place, including the overnight totals, which is the number that matters for court forms and support calculations.

What the calendar shows you

Each night is colored for the parent the children stay with, and carries that parent's initial so the calendar still works if you print it in black and white or if you're colorblind.

Moving individual nights

Tap or click any night to switch it to the other parent. That's useful for one-off swaps (a work trip, a family wedding, a school event) and for building a completely custom pattern if none of the standard ones fit.

Changed nights are marked, and the totals update immediately, so you can see exactly what a swap costs before you agree to it. Reset changes puts everything back.

Printing and sharing the calendar

Use your browser's print function on the year view for a clean printable copy, the site's navigation and buttons are removed automatically when printing.

If you want a properly formatted set of month calendars alongside a full parenting plan, that's part of the export.

Turning the calendar into a parenting plan

A calendar alone isn't a parenting plan. Courts want the schedule written out in words, together with the holiday rotation, exchange arrangements, decision-making and standard provisions.

Is this custody calendar free?

Yes. The calendar, the pattern library and the overnight calculations are all free with no account. Payment only comes in if you want to export a finished court-ready parenting plan.

Can I print the custody calendar?

Yes. Switch to the year view and use your browser's print command, the page strips out navigation and buttons when printing. A formatted printable calendar is also included with the plan export.

Does the calendar count overnights automatically?

It does. Each parent's overnight count and percentage update live as you change the pattern, the start date, the holidays or individual nights.

Can I make a custom schedule?

Yes. Start from whichever standard pattern is closest and tap individual nights to move them. The overnight totals follow along, so you can shape a custom pattern to a target percentage.

Will my calendar be saved?
