OurFamilyWizard is a co-parenting communication platform: messaging with a tamper-evident record, a shared calendar, expense tracking, and a document store. It's widely used, and in some cases court-ordered, in high-conflict situations where a record of communication matters.

CustodyPlan is a schedule and document builder. It works out the custody schedule, counts the overnights, and produces the parenting plan you file.

If a court has ordered you to communicate through a monitored platform, OurFamilyWizard or something like it's what you need, and this page won't change that. If what you actually need is the plan document, you're in the right place.

Common questions

Is CustodyPlan a replacement for OurFamilyWizard?

Only if what you needed was the plan document. We don't offer monitored messaging or expense tracking, and if a court has ordered you to use a communication platform, we don't meet that requirement.

Can I use both?

Plenty of parents do. Build the plan here, then use a communication platform for day-to-day co-parenting if your situation calls for it.

Why does OurFamilyWizard charge per parent?

It is a two-sided communication product, so each parent has their own account. A plan document is a single artefact, which is why we charge once for it. Competitor pricing and features are taken from publicly available information and may have changed. Check directly before deciding.

Does CustodyPlan have a shared calendar?

It produces the calendar as part of your plan, printable month views for the year and the full schedule in the document. It isn't a live shared calendar that both parents edit; that's a communication-platform feature.
